Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy
Dear, all authors, reviewers, and readers
In our continued commitment to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and adapting to technological advancements, the Editorial Board of the Jurnal Manajemen Agribisnis dan Agroindustri (JMAA) has established and updated several key policies regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the scholarly publication process. These updates aim to provide clear guidance, maintain transparency, and ensure that all parties authors, reviewers, and editors adhere to the highest ethical standards.
These policy updates are effective immediately, as of October 7, 2025.
The key updates are summarized below:
- New AI Usage Policy: We have introduced a comprehensive AI Usage Policy. This policy provides clear guidelines for the responsible use of AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation, outlining author responsibilities and ethical limitations, including the prohibition of AI as a listed author.
- Updated Publication Ethics: Our Publication Ethics policy has been significantly updated to integrate specific rules regarding AI. This includes new responsibilities for editors and reviewers to maintain confidentiality by not using external AI tools, and the requirement for authors to disclose their use of AI.
- Integration into Author and Reviewer Guidelines: The Author Guidelines and Peer Review Policy have been revised to align with these new rules. Notably, our initial editorial screening process now explicitly includes a check for AI-generated content alongside our standard plagiarism check.
We believe these clear guidelines will help our community leverage technology responsibly while preserving the core principles of originality and integrity in scholarly publishing.
